About us

We are Orange Door Recovery.

We run licensed men's sober living homes in the Phoenix metro area. Sober living homes are not treatment centers or rehab facilities. Our residents are not our patients.

They are men taking accountability for their own recovery, responsible for their own choices, and living together in a real home. Our job is to keep that home safe and comfortable, and handle the details down to the salt and pepper on the table, so they can put their energy into their recovery.

Mission

A safe place to rebuild

Give men in recovery a comfortable, dignified home to live in while they do the work of staying sober.

Vision

Somewhere to land

A Phoenix where every man leaving treatment has a stable home to step into, not a shelter bed or a couch.

Values

How we run

Dignity first, real hospitality, honest accountability, and respect for every path to recovery.

Why Orange Door Recovery exists

Recovery philosophy

Recovery isn't one size fits all.

There is no one right way to get sober. For some it is 12-step meetings and a sponsor. For others it is an intensive outpatient program, counseling, a faith-based program, work, or school. We do not require one path. We just ask that you stay active in the one you choose.

The one expectation

Every resident stays active in recovery and shows it, with a mandatory weekly house meeting and a weekly recovery activity report. We provide the structure and community. You choose the path.

Life at the house

Community, built in.

The men here are all working toward the same goal. We organize regular activities so the house stays connected and no one goes through recovery alone.

Community involvement

We also get residents involved in the community, through volunteer days and local events. Purpose and connection beyond the house are part of staying well.

FAQ

Questions people ask us

Straight answers on how living here works.

A sober living home is a structured, alcohol- and drug-free house where people in recovery live together while they rebuild. It is not treatment. It is a stable place to live with accountability and community around you.

Men who are committed to active recovery, can follow the house rules, and attest to their sobriety. You do not need to have finished a specific program to apply.

At the Windsor Home a shared room is $220 per week and a private room is $320 per week. There is a one-time $125 administration fee and a $25 monthly resident services fee. Utilities and Wi-Fi are included, and financial aid is available.

Yes, randomly and regularly. It is not about catching people out. It is how we keep every man in the house safe and the environment sober.

Yes, and we expect it. If you are not working, in school, or in treatment, you actively look for work and show your job search when asked. The Windsor Home is close to transit to make getting to work easier.

Yes. School, training, and work all fit alongside house life as long as you stay active in your recovery and keep up with house responsibilities.

Yes. We never deny, restrict, or end residency because of medication-assisted treatment. You disclose current medications at intake so staff can support safe storage and emergency response.

Stay sober and drug and alcohol free, attend the mandatory weekly house meeting, turn in a weekly recovery activity report, pass random and for-cause drug tests, keep curfew, do your daily and weekly chores, pay your fees on time, and stay in work, school, or treatment. You get the full list before move-in.

No. AA, NA, SMART Recovery, Celebrate Recovery, church, counseling, we support all of them. The one requirement is that you stay active in your recovery every week.

We handle it honestly and with care. Recovery is not a straight line. The safety of the whole house comes first, so depending on the situation we may put a plan in place or, when needed, end residency under our written tenancy framework.

Complete a Financial Aid application and talk to us. We can walk through payment options and point you toward AHCCCS and grant-funded programs.

Residency is week to week with no set maximum. You can stay as long as you follow the house rules and stay active in your recovery. Most residents stay several months to a year while they rebuild stability.

Yes, within our guest policy and visiting hours. We go over the details at move-in so everyone is on the same page.

No. Sober living is non-clinical housing, so it is not billed to insurance the way treatment is. Complete a Financial Aid application and we will talk through options.
